A wholly owned subsidiary of Mumtalakat, Radio Bahrain Company has been granted operating and broadcasting rights of Radio Bahrain English Station for 10 years. The current Bahraini technical and media staff of the radio station have joined the Radio Bahrain Company.

Commenting on the occasion, Mahmood H. For us, Radio Bahrain will grow by attracting promising local young talent and expertise while investing in upgrading the available infrastructure in line with international standards.”

“Radio broadcast is a powerful global communication tool with a wide base of listeners. It is instrumental in building and enhancing values and providing a positive and investment friendly environment that contributes towards the social and economic development of the Kingdom. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to HE Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, Information Affairs Minister, and all the staff at the ministry for their continued efforts in facilitating the transition,” added Alkooheji.

The English-speaking Radio Bahrain Channel (96.5 FM) was established in 1977 with a focus on the expatriate community in Bahrain at the time. Today its listeners base includes young Bahrainis in addition to foreign expatriates living in the Kingdom. Plans are underway to enhance and activate the channel’s digital presence.
