Durrat is a closed Bahraini Joint Stock Company, incorporated in the Kingdom of Bahrain on 19 February 2000. The company is a joint development, owned 50% by Mumtalakat, 37.5% by Kuwait Finance House (KFH) and 12.5% by Durrat Al Bahrain Investment B.S.C.
Durrat is engaged in the reclamation of land and development of infrastructures, residential and commercial property with a view to sell such land and residential and commercial properties in the normal course of business. The company is currently involved in developing the Durrat Al Bahrain Project, a real estate project located on the south east coast of Bahrain. This 21 km² master development has been created across a cluster of 15 spectacular islands. It will host, among its many kaleidoscopic offerings, beautiful beachfront villas, executive apartments and offices, luxury hotels and spa resorts, parks and entertainment precincts, premier retail malls and restaurants, a 400 berth marina, and an 18-hole golf course designed by Ernie Els, the world renowned golfer. The project is designed by W.S. Atkins & Partners, and managed by KMC Bovis Lend Lease. Upon completion, Durrat Al Bahrain will be the region’s most prominent seaside resort city, putting Bahrain on the upscale tourism map.
