Southern Area Development Company was established in 1995 as a closed shareholding real estate developing company, to deliver tourism development across the Hawar Islands and Southern Region of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The shareholders are the Social Insurance Organization, Mumtalakat and Eskan Bank.

The company has successfully funded and developed the Hawar Resort Hotel and provided extensive support to the hotel management. It has also helped to raise the overall profile of Hawar among target audiences.
