GARMCO was established in April, 1981. GARMCO is the largest downstream aluminium facility in the Gulf region for rolling, cutting and fabricating aluminium with an existing capacity of 165,000 tonnes, and a separate foil mill with a capacity of 20,000 tonnes. 75% of GARMCO's sales are exported outside the GCC. It offers a full range of “common alloy” products, as well as limited “added value” products.

GARMCO has facilities for the re-melt of scrap materials, which produces one third of its raw material requirements.

The company has 15 subsidiaries to market its products in USA, Europe and Far East.
